Stephanie and Damian are just too much fun to write; I hope I didn’t completely butcher their characterizations, welp. (Also, it’s really late, and I have no idea what this says anymore.)

Lashing out with a powerful kick, Damian swept Stephanie’s legs completely out from under her for the seventh time in as many minutes. She crashed to the floor, her shoulder blades connecting squarely with the training mat as she fell, upper arms shouldering the brunt of the impact. For a moment she remained on her back, slowing her wheezing until she’d almost caught her breath.
“Foam mats,” she groused, sitting up and rubbing at a purpling bruise on her backside. “Not as cushy as you’d think.” Wincing, she accepted Damian’s proffered hand.
He snorted, drawing her upright with one arm as he swiped at his brow with the other. “It would appear that you never tire of having your ass handed to you,” he drawled loftily, releasing her hand and adjusting the tape around his own with an exasperated sigh. His forehead bunched together sharply, then, “We could. Take a break, if you wish?” He strove for impartiality, but Stephanie detected the trace of uncertainty in his voice and shook her head.
She brushed her hair from her eyes with bloodless fingers, still breathing through her teeth. Shaking out her wrists and ankles, she beckoned him forward with a flash of white teeth and a inviting motion of her own taped-up hands. “Again,”she demanded, leaning forward to wipe the sweat from her temples.

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS AND I JUST SAW THIS IN MY DASH AND I CANT

have something I need to say. My initial reaction to this was, of course, I CAN’T BREATHE EVERYTHING IS PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL, and, well, that’s because it was and it still is. But! I got to thinking, why is this so amazing? Comics foist pictures of scantily clad ladies at us nearly all the time. Boobs have mostly no affect on the viewer, unless their overall size is equal or greater to the lady’s head. We’re so, so used to hypersexualized women, usually baring three-fourths of their breast flesh or more. And yet, to me, this is one of the most sensual pieces of fanart I’ve seen in some time. Steph’s breasts aren’t huge, nor are they pushed up to her chin or in danger of some serious nipslip. So, what makes this amazing? The subtlety. In two panels, the artist has managed to illustrate a complicated, delicate moment. Damian’s eyes aren’t full of goo-goo lust over seeing boobs, and he’s not looking at her like he wants to drag her to the nearest flat surface and ravish her. He’s looking at her with hesitance and reverence, like yes, I like this, but not with the aggressiveness that is kind of assumed in a lot of pairing art. You can SEE that he respects her. In two sequential panels, you’ve managed to capture something hot and nuanced and I am so impressed. Guh, this is so awesome. I promise I won’t reblog this again. Okay so how about this
Steph and Damian are patrolling one night together when Damian is about 17 and they come across a box of kittens, with only two of the little babus still alive
and Steph is like, “To the shelter.”
and Dami is all, “Nonsense woman, I will just take them back to the manor (BECAUSE I LOVE CATS AND ALL ANIMALS REALLY)”
and the next day Steph swings on by to check up on Dami and the new babus
when she walks into his room he is like laying on his bed, playing with the two little survivors and laughing and smiling and she basically just
